In late 2021 it was announced that the classic Nike Air Max Penny 1 would return. One of the first colorways originally scheduled to release was the “Orlando” edition. Due to shipping delays and such, the release for the Penny 1 was pushed back to later in the year. Alongside them, various other colorways are set to drop, including not one, but two collaborations with retailer, Social Status.
The first colorway of the Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny 1 leaked in January and since then detailed images have surfaced. Now, we have an official look at a second colorway, this one in an OG Orlando Magic-themed iteration. The sneaker features an all-black suede upper with white accents.
A removable velcro Swoosh is found on the sides, and comes in five unique colors. Additional details include: a custom lace toggle, printed insoles and Social Status branding embroidered on the heel. Finishing things off for this pair is an icy blue translucent and solid black rubber outsole, and five extra sets of laces. Each pair comes housed in special packaging as well.
The Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny 1 Black is set to release alongside its Desert Sand counterpart, rounding out the Recess Pack. It will drop at Social Status as well as select retailers worldwide in-store and online on July 15th. Alongside the online release, an in-store raffle will be held at all Whittaker Group storefronts via appointment from July 2nd to July 7th as well as an online raffle during this same time span. A Nike SNKRS release is also set for August 11th. Coming in men’s sizes, the pair will retail for $190. Keep it locked to our Twitter and Mobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
