Stone Island has long been heralded as a staple luxury streetwear piece within the community, collaborating with other heavy hitters such as Nike, Supreme, and New Balance throughout the years. Now the Italian-based label is heading to Boston and Japan for the latest colorway on the Stone Island x TDS New Balance RC ELITE_SI 1, drawing inspiration from the coveted New Balance 1300JP.
Though not as premium as the NB 1300JP, the silhouette takes on the iconic colorway of the sneaker that makes its rounds once every five years. The base of this collab takes on a steel blue mesh, appearing jagged and cut thanks to the olive green suede overlays present on the toe, midfoot, and heel. Fused overlays running from the toebox to the midfoot make up the NB logo on the lateral side, while the medial side opts for standard “New Balance” text.
More branding hits come in the form of the N logo along the midfoot, taking on a tonal green suede with a white underlay. Flat laces weaving in and out of the eyestays come in a shade of salmon, contrasting the pastel tongue and “Tokyo Design Studio New Balance” text up above. This same text is featured on the insole of the right sneaker with Stone Island making an appearance on the left. Underfoot, a chunky white Fuel Cell midsole sits atop a two-tone white and black rubber outsole, rounding out the look.
The Stone Island x TDS New Balance RC ELITE_SI 1 1300JP is set to release in August 2022 through New Balance, Stone Island, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizes, retail is approximately set at $266USD. To stay up to date on the latest from Stone Island and NB, keep it locked to our Twitter and Mobile App for future releases.
