Topo Chico, the Cocoa Coloa-owned sparkling mineral water from Mexico, has teamed up with Converse for a limited-edition collection of footwear and apparel. The two brands partnered with Mexican American street artist Victor "Marka27" Quinonez to honor Topo Chico's Mexican heritage through colorful art expressions. The result sees the Fastbreak Pro and Chuck Taylor All-Star outfitted in unique colorways that will make you thirsty.
The Topo Chico x Converse Collection consists of three sneakers, a t-shirt, and a hoodie. Up first is the Converse Fastbreak Pro. Coming in vintage white, egret, and amarillo, this '80s basketball icon, successfully converted into a skate shoe, sports a premium mesh and suede upper. Screenprinted graphics adorn the lining, with Topo Chico branding on the back heel. A custom tongue tag features water droplets, while bottlecaps are on the insoles. A solid green rubber outsole, a nod to Topo Chico's signature green bottles, finishes this pair.
Next, we have the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Hi and Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Ox. The CTAS Hi features a cream-based canvas upper with embroidered and screenprinted graphics. Topo Chico branding can be seen via the tongue logo, embroidered on the medial sides and the back heel of the vulcanized rubber sole. Hits of green, representing the green bottle, are present via the solid rubber outsole and classic Converse logo on the medial sides that feature water droplets throughout.
The CTAS Ox, the only pair with a black base, comes in all-canvas with all-over screenprinted graphics. More custom Topo Chico hits are found on the inside of the tongue and back heel, with bottlecap graphics on the toe of the sole, back heel, and insoles. Each pair comes in custom packaging, furthering the unique designs.
The Topo Chico x Converse Collection is set to release on May 2, 2024, via Converse online and in-store at select retailers. Coming in unisex sizing, the Fastbreak Pro will retail for $90, the Chuck Taylor Hi for $75, the Chuck Taylor Ox for $70, the hoodie for $80, and the t-shirt for $40.
