Signature silhouettes are a rarity in the NBA, as less than 30 active players currently hold their own sneaker. Following news that Nike is giving Devin Booke his long-awaited signature sneaker, Anthony Edwards' first signature shoe from adidas has officially been unveiled — the adidas AE 1.
Initially showcased at Edwards' Homecoming Celebration in Atlanta, Georgia, the silhouette utilizes a molded neoprene upper similar to the upcoming Fear Of God Athletics basketball models. Fear of God designer Jerry Lorenzo was the head of adidas Basketball for a short time, so it’s possible he had input on this pair before stepping back and shifting his focus to FOG Athletics.

Other details on the sneaker include a TPU overlay with ventilation holes covering the shoe's profile, while the toe cap is rounded off. Below this TPU sits a knit upper, allowing for breathability and a secure lockdown when coupled with the split tongue. A large Trefoil logo on the heel sits atop the carbon fiber heel counter while Anthony Edwards branding is placed atop the tongue.
The adidas AE 1 is set to debut in the With Love colorway on December 16, 2023, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in full-family sizing, the retail price is set at $120 for men's pairs.
