Since introducing his first signature sneaker to the public at the beginning of 2024, Devin Booker’s Nike Book 1 has become a mainstay in Nike’s lineup of basketball footwear releases. The model has been subject to thematic makeovers, like those for Halloween and Christmas, and has also appeared in exclusive colorways, like the Nike EYBL PE. Nike has given the Book 1 a makeover for the Chinese High School Basketball League.
Featuring a smooth leather and mesh mixture, the upper takes on a white finish across most of its paneling. This includes the leather around the toebox, mudguard, eyestays, collar, and heel, while the midfoot panel undergoes a makeover, replacing its usual canvas twill for mesh. Contrasting the neutral hues is a gradient pattern applied to the Swoosh, beginning in a pink hue and transitioning into an orange-yellow hue as you approach the heel.

More pops of color come in the form of the yellow Book-branded woven tongue label, which contains Chinese characters translated to Nike, and the spine of the heel, which comes with a braided nylon patch in a mixture of deep blue and light blue. Finishing the design are the 1’s embroidered into the lateral heel, the white rubber midsole, and a semi-translucent gradient outsole going from a light red-pink to icy blue as you move from the toe back.
The Nike Book 1 CHBL will release exclusively in China in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is 1099 CNY (approx $150).
