Longtime designer Jason Petrie remained the leading engineer for the Nike LeBron 11 (XI), which was released in 2013. Although the LeBron 11 featured an unconventional design, it was the sneaker’s technology that brought consumers in. Petrie’s futuristic silhouette utilized a carbon fiber plate, Nike’s Hyperposite technology, and Lunarlon cushioning for an improved feel of the basketball court. Introduced in 2013, the Nike LeBron 11 was yet another breakthrough in LeBron's signature line. Known for its ultra-modern, angular design, the LeBron 11 was created with the aim of producing a lighter and lower sneaker without compromising on the premium features expected in a LeBron shoe. Jason Petrie led the design, featuring Nike's Hyperposite technology, which fused Foamposite and Hyperfuse to deliver lightweight lock-down, dynamic fit, and excellent protection.

The LeBron 11 also introduced the Lunarlon and Zoom Air cushioning combination in the LeBron line for the first time, offering enhanced responsiveness and impact absorption. Furthermore, the design incorporated an inner sleeve that offered seamless comfort and signature details on the tongue and Swoosh reflecting LeBron's personality.
