After the official debut of the KD 18 as part of Nike Basketball’s Black Label Collection, KD has been teasing us with various colorways of his next signature sneaker with Nike. On top of pairs like the Air Bakin-inspired colorway and the upcoming homage to Seat Pleasant, Maryland, Durant has also previewed a Nike EYBL colorway.
Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) brings some of the top high school basketball prospects together to showcase their talent on a national level. In addition to these young hoopers getting exposed to a wider audience, Nike signature athletes often make appearances, help these prodigies, and create special colorways of their sneakers for the players to wear. Last year, Durant’s KD 17 was given a vibrant red makeover for those who attended the league.

While that colorway was exclusive to players in Nike EYBL, the pair KD wore on the court against the Timberwolves last Sunday will be available to the public. The futuristic colorway sports an all-over metallic silver chrome finish, including on the overlay along the toe, the ACG Air Terra Humara-inspired midfoot cage, the tongue, and the collar. Pops of green make their mark on the toebox mesh, the lace set, and the EYBL text along the black nylon strip on the tongue. Finishing the sneaker is the tonal foam midsole and rubber outsole.
The Nike KD 18 EYBL will release on April 25, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $160. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
