MSCHF has made a name for itself outside of the sneaker world for the art collective’s avant-garde exhibits and wild concepts. One of these ideas included giving thousands access to a car. However, their footwear line has seen the label's most controversial releases. After lawsuits with Nike and Vans, it seems MSCHF has tightened up with their designs as they’ve redesigned pairs like the Super Normal 2 to stray from Nike’s patented designs. Sometimes, however, MSCHF takes things to an extreme like when they released the AC 1, a cast for your feet, but now you can channel your inner Astro Boy with the upcoming MSCHF Big Red Boot.
Constructed out of EVA foam with a rubber exterior shell, the sneaker truly brings cartoon footwear to life with its oversized, exaggerated build. A tonal red covers the entire rubber shell while its design forgoes any sharp or aggressive edges, smoothing out the entire boot. On-foot photos show its high cut that reaches just below the knees, mimicking the same design you’d find on Astro Boy himself. Rounding out the design is the MSCHF-branded rubber outsole.
The MSCHF Big Red Boot is set to release on February 16th, 2023 through MSCHF’s website and the MSCHF Sneakers App. Releasing in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $350.
