The New Balance 1906W Debuts Spring 2025
Published2024 was most definitely the year of the 1906R for New Balance, as the brand pushed the silhouette forward with an array of inline releases, collaborations, and new variants like the 1906L Loafer and 1906A. To kick off the new year, NB has plans to bring us yet another 1906 silhouette, this time borrowing from the military-issued 950v2 with its Fantomfit overlays. While we saw previews of this 1906W in September, official images of the first four colorways have found their way online.
The 1906W retains the same shape and general look as the 1906R. However, it sees a wide-spaced mesh act as its base. Above this, the triangular overlays we have become familiar with are removed and replaced with the Fantomfit fused overlays that run across the lateral and medial sides. Details from the OG remain, like the Nlock N logo on the midfoot, the black TPU heel counter, and the NB logo on the heel tab.

Below, the 1906W keeps the tooling from the 1906R, borrowed from the 860v2, featuring Abzorb cushioning within the foam and rubber compound. As for colors to kickstart the silhouette, NB keeps it simple by offering four classic color combos. These include White, Black, Grey, and Navy, all of which are staple colors in the brand’s arsenal.
The New Balance 1906W will release in Spring 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced, but expect it to hover around the $150-$160 range typically found on 1906Rs.
