First introduced in December of 2021, LaMelo Ball's first signature sneaker from a major sneaker brand has been a hit amongst hoopers and sneaker heads alike. Though only one colorway has been released so far, it looks like Puma is making a push with this hit by releasing multiple colorways to start off the year, including an upcoming Rick and Morty collab.
The Puma MB.01 “Grey Infrared” as the name suggests, comes in a two-tone grey and infrared design. The upper comes in what Puma calls “Monomesh,” a lightweight and supportive material on foot. Plastic fused overlays add to the structure, making up the eyestay and mudguard. Bird Wings are stitched in infrared from mid foot to heel where Melo and Puma co-branding is present. Throughout the entire sneaker descriptions for LaMelo including: “Not From Here” and “1 Of 1” are present on the bottom and top of the tongue respectively. For cushioning, Puma provides Nitro-Foam under-foot, encapsulated by a smokey grey rubber midsole. A translucent rubber outsole in the same smokey grey covers the word “Rare” underneath, wrapping up this stylish colorway.
The Puma MB.01 LaMelo Ball Grey Infrared is set to be released on February 18th, 2022 through Puma.com and select retailers online and in-store. Retail is set at $125 for men’s sizing.
