Footwear design mastermind Salehe Bembury is once again turning heads in the sneaker world by teasing an upcoming collaboration with New Balance. Tackling the archival New Balance 1906R, it seems Bembury is taking a different approach for his latest work with New Balance.
Bembury teased his own take on the New Balance 1906R featuring a yellow-to-red gradient across the upper. Mesh acts as the base and the canvas for this gradient pattern while silver and black leather overlays are placed across the upper. For the midfoot "N" logo, the logo comes part of the lacing system and gets an orange nylon finish. Accenting hits of blue are found on a suede patch near the toe, the tongue tag, and the sockliner. Underfoot sits a grey foam midsole paired with a blue rubber outsole.
Alongside this pair, Bembury has also crafted a Magma colorway of the 1906R.
The Salehe Bembury x New Balance 1906R Heat Be Hot Lava is set to release on January 11th, 2024, via Salehe's Be A Spunge website. A wider global release is expected shortly after.
