Salehe Bembury ventures across the footwear industry, holding deals with numerous brands that allow him to collaborate on exciting new projects throughout the year. Fresh off announcing his work on a new Puma Basketball model and launching new colorways of his Crocs Pollex Clog, Bembury continues to push boundaries. Today, he gave away pairs of his upcoming New Balance 530 collaboration in Copenhagen. Now, he has taken to his Instagram stories to share images of his take on the New Balance 991v2. Alongside this new collaboration, the 991v2 is also getting worked on by a pivotal partner for NB: Kith.
Salehe Bembury’s take on the New Balance 991v2 Made in UK features a premium construction with a blend of high-quality materials. The upper is predominantly covered in a lilac purple pigskin suede, complemented by mesh and nubuck accents. Silver overlays adorn the toebox, while blue hues accentuate the vamp and the Salehe Bembury co-branded tongue tag. Additional colors include a green sockliner and a pop of volt yellow near the rubber extending up from the outsole on the toe. The shoe is completed with a FuelCell-cushioned midsole in a cream hue, providing comfort and support, paired with a black and volt rubber outsole for durability and traction. His signature fingerprint detail seems to be missing, though that may be revealed later through more detailed photos.
The Salehe Bembury x New Balance 991v2 Made in UK should release in 2024 through Salehe Bembury’s Be A Spunge website and New Balance online. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
