Ronnie Fieg’s output needs to be studied as the mogul who created the Kith empire continues to impress each year with new collaborations across the footwear universe. Last night on his social media, Fieg teased us with what’s to come for Kith’s Spring 2025 Collection, showcasing an array of inline apparel products and collaborations with Salomon and more. Adding to the illustrious history of Kith x New Balance is an all-new take on the 991v2.
Though this on-foot shot doesn’t give us full details of the collaboration, the color palette leans into the iconic Steel Blue colorway that originated on the New Balance 1300 in 1984. Fieg has repeatedly stated that this particular model was his favorite, and he even applied the 1300’s famous Steel Blue shade to the 999 in 2012. As for his take on the updated Made in UK 991, we can see pops of blue appear on the mesh portions of the toe and a dark greyish-blue pigskin suede coat the mudguard, midfoot, and heel.

Nubuck panels in another grey hue are on the toebox, matching the color of the midfoot N logo and contrasting the icy blue lace set nearby. Aside from the obvious N logo and the slightly visible Kith logo on the lace dubrae, the other branding details are not confirmed, though if Fieg follows the blueprint of the 991v2 Made in UK MSG, expect to see a Kith logo on the heel. The tonal white foam midsole finishes the design, featuring FuelCell cushioning and a black rubber outsole.
The Kith x New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Steel Blue will release as part of Kith’s Spring 2025 Collection in the coming months exclusively through Kith online and in-store. The retail price has yet to be announced, though almost every 991v2 release, including collaborations, has retailed for $250.
