After 22 years on the shelf, the New Balance 991 was updated as a v2 model, launching in October 2023. Since the initial colorways and collaboration with Stone Island, the illustrious Made in UK silhouette has ventured globally, partnering with Kith and Salehe Bembury and launching in GR colors that have become fan favorites like the Winter Flair rendition. Of course, no New Balance silhouette is complete without a navy-shaded makeover, which is now returning to the silhouette with the upcoming Vintage Navy release.
New Balance previously covered the 991v2 Made in UK in a Navy color scheme. However, this pair adds vintage flair and new contrasting details to the upper. The same premium pigskin suede navy overlays are applied to this pair, but the leather on the toebox and the tongue tag are changed. Cream hues are present on both of these features, with the latter also containing red New Balance text that pops amongst the cream and steel blue hues surrounding it.

Also different on this pair is the shade of the open-spaced mesh base, which aligns more with the steel blue shade made famous by the New Balance 1300. Down below, New Balance applies a tonal cream finish to most of the FuelCell-cushioned midsole, forgoing the previous Navy colorways' two-tone approach. Pods of navy blue pop on select portions of the foam. Rounding out the design is the tonal cream-grey rubber outsole.
The New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Vintage Navy will release in Spring 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $250.
