Hidden NY is a classic example of turning a passion into a career. The mysterious admin of the Instagram page-turned-lifestyle-brand has expanded the brand’s reach from inline collections of shirts, socks, and accessories to full-blown collaborations across various industries. Hidden has teamed up with Salomon and Asics on the footwear side of things, launching projects on the GT-2160 and the Gel-NYC. Fans have been awaiting what will come next from the duo, though they might not have to wait much longer as Asics and Hidden NY have teased a new project in the works on Instagram.
The image posted in collaboration with Complex, Hidden NY, and Asics shows a fractured rock held together by a ratchet strap containing Asics and Hidden NY branding details in Hidden’s signature green hue. The text on the strap reads, “Designed & Engineered by ASICSHIDDEN For Indoor & Outdoor Applications.” The caption for the post provides a bit more insight, reading, “Hidden NY & Asics Prehistoric Technologies: An interactive installation dropping new sneakers and merchandise exclusively for ComplexCon.” Exactly what sneaker model will be used for this new collab remains a mystery. Taking some educated guesses based on the mention of indoor and outdoor applications could see the duo work on the Gel-Terrain. This model has been subject to multiple collaborations, including Up There, nonnative, and Cecile Bahnsen.
Following up on the teaser, Hidden NY officially unveiled their next Asics project via an Instagram post. We can see the silhouette of choice is the Gel-Venture 6 Shield, with the model taking on a clean color palette of white, grey, and Hidden NY's signature green hue.
The Hidden NY x Asics Gel-Venture 6 Shield will first release at ComplexCon on November 16th and 17th. An online release will come at a later date.
